Desi Tacos

One more attempt in trying a Indian-Mexican dish. Hope you enjoy it!!!

Time: Preparation – 10 mins, Cooking – 10 mins, Total – 20 mins

Servings: 2


  1. Taco Shells – 4
  2. Kidney Beans (rajma) – 1/2  cup (boiled with salt, as per taste)
  3. Potato – 1 cup (chopped finely)
  4. Sweet corn – 1/3 cup (boiled)
  5. Tomato – 1 cup (finely chopped)
  6. Onion – 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
  7. Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
  8. Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  9. Black Pepper powder – 1 tsp
  10. Red Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  11. Olive oil – 1 tbsp (you can use refined oil as well)
  12. Salt to taste

PS: 1 Cup = 250 ML

How to make Salsa:

  1. Take a bowl. Add tomatoes, onions and coriander leaves. Mix well
  2. Add 1/2 tsp black pepper powder, lemon juice and salt
  3. Mix well and keep it aside.

How to make Crispy Potato:

  1. Heat oil in a pan or a kadai
  2. Add potatoes, red chilli powder, 1/2 black pepper powder and salt
  3. Mix well. Cover it and cook on low flame
  4. Keep sauteing in between. Cook till potatoes are soft
  5. Remove the lid and cook on high flame for a minute to make the potatoes crispy
  6. Crispy potatoes are ready. Keep it aside

How to bake Tacos:

  1. Pre-heat oven on 350 degree
  2. Bake taco shells for 3 minutes
  3. Taco shells are ready. Keep it aside
  4. You can even bake them as per the instructions on the pack
  5. You can also microwave them for a minute.

How to make Desi Tacos:

  1. Take a taco shell. Start putting the layers of kidney beans, crispy potatoes, sweet corn and salsa
  2. Your Desi Tacos are ready. Serve Immediately.
