Healthy, nutritious, flavourful and super easy to make!!! Crispy Chickpea and Tahini Salad. You’ll need chickpeas, greens, cucumbers, onions, tahini and a few spices, and this salad will be ready in mins.
Tips:
- You can either air-fry or bake the chickpeas
- You can use boiled chickpeas or store-bought canned chickpeas for this recipe
- If not serving the salad immediately then store the components separately, and assemble when ready to serve.

Ingredients:
- Boiled Chickpea – 2 cups
- Shredded Lettuce – 3 cups
- Sliced Cucumber – 1
- Thinly Sliced Onion – 1 small
- Garlic Powder – 1 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Ground Black Pepper – 1/2 tsp
- Tahini – 1/4 cup
- Lemon Juice – 2 tbsp
- Lemon Zest – 1/4 tsp
- Hot Water – 2-3 tbsp (to thin the dressing)
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste.
PS: 1 Cup = 250 ML.
How to make Crispy Chickpea and Tahini Salad:
- Take a mixing bowl and add boiled chickpeas, red chilli powder, cumin powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, oil and salt. Toss well
- Air-fry or Bake:
- To Air Fry: Transfer the chickpeas in the basket of the air fryer. Cook on 400 F for 15 mins or until golden and crisp. Shake the basket every 5 mins
- To Bake: Pre-heat the oven to 400 F or 200 C. Line a large baking sheet with aluminium foil or parchment paper and transfer the chickpeas on the lined sheet. Roast for 15-20 mins, take it out and toss, place it back in the oven and roast for another 10-15 mins, until chickpeas are crisp
- While chickpeas are cooling down, make the dressing. Take a small mixing bowl and add tahini, ground black pepper, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt to taste. Mix until smooth, add hot water as needed to thin the dressing. Keep aside
- Take a serving plate or a bowl. Spread shredded lettuce, top it with sliced cucumbers, onions and crispy chickpeas, finally top it with the dressing. Serve and enjoy!!!
