Chocolate Strawberry Mousse

A divine combo filled in a dessert cup in the form of a velvety mousse, need I say more??? Chocolate Strawberry Mousse is prefect treat to share with family and friends, and of course it is extremely easy to make!

Servings: makes 8 medium cups.

Ingredients:

For Chocolate Mousse

  1. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chip – 1 cup
  2. Chilled Heavy Whipping Cream – 1/2 cup + 2/3 cup
  3. Vanilla Extract – 1/4 tsp

For Strawberry Mousse

  1. Chopped Strawberries – 2 cups
  2. Chilled Heavy Whipping Cream – 1 cup
  3. Granulated Sugar – 1/3 cup
  4. Agar Agar Powder – 2 tsp (for a more stable mousse)
  5. Vanilla Extract – 1/2 tsp.

PS: 1 Cup = 250 ML.

How to make Chocolate Strawberry Mousse:

  • Chocolate Mousse
    1. Take a bowl, and add chocolate chip and 1/2 cup cream. Microwave until chocolate is melted and smooth, take 20 secs intervals and stir every time. Keep aside to cool it at room temperate
    2. Take another bowl, and add 2/3 cup cream and vanilla extract. Using a hand-mixer or wired whisk beat until you get a stiff peak
    3. Now add melted chocolate to the cream and using a silicone spatula gently fold it or use the hand mixer for 5-10 secs to mix. Be careful if you’re using hand-mixer, don’t over do it. Keep aside or in refrigerator if there’s time in the assembly
  • Strawberry Mousse
    1. Take a blender or food processor add the chopped strawberries and sugar. Blend to make a smooth puree. Keep aside
    2. Take a bowl, and add cream, vanilla extract and agar agar powder. Using a hand-mixer or wired whisk beat until you get a stiff peak
    3. Now add strawberry puree to the cream and using a silicone spatula gently fold it or use the hand mixer for 5-10 secs to mix. Be careful if you’re using hand-mixer, don’t over do it. Keep aside or in refrigerator if there’s time in the assembly
  • Assembly
    1. Take a dessert cup, fill it till 1/3rd or 1/2 (as desired) with strawberry mousse, then make the second layer with chocolate mousse with same amount as strawberry mousse. Top it with some strawberry mousse or some fresh chopped strawberries
    2. Your Chocolate Strawberry Mousse Cups are ready, refrigerate for about 2 hours for the flavours to settle. Enjoy!
