Gajar Halwa with Kesar Mousse

A delectable combo which you cannot skip! You have to try this whenever you’re making the next batch of Gajar Halwa. Gajar Halwa topped with Kesar Mousse, such a mouthwatering dessert.

Servings: makes 6 medium cups.

Ingredients:

  1. Gajar Halwa – 3 cups or as needed, follow the recipe here
  2. Chilled Heavy Whipping Cream – 1 cup
  3. Powdered Sugar – 2 tbsp
  4. Cardamom Powder – 1/2 tsp
  5. Saffron Threads – 10
  6. Warm Milk – 1 tbsp
  7. Agar Agar Powder – 1 tsp (optional, for more stabilised mousse)
  8. Crushed Rose Petals for granishing.

PS: 1 Cup = 250 ML.

How to make Gajar Halwa with Kesar Mousse:

  1. In a small bowl dissolve saffron threads in warm milk, keep aside
  2. Take a mixing bowl and add cream. Using a hand-mixer or wired whisk, whip until it thickens slightly
  3. Add powdered sugar, agar agar powder, cardamom powder and saffron milk
  4. Continue whipping until you get a stiff peak. Your Kesar Mousse is ready
  5. Take a dessert cup and make a layer of Gajar Halwa, top it with some whipped Kesar Mousse and finally sprinkle some Crushed Rose Petals. Your Gajar Halwa with Kesar Mousse is ready!
  6. You can refrigerate it if needed, take it out of the refrigerator 15-20 mins before serving.
