Spinach Soup

Spinach is super nutritious and when it’s in a soup, we relish it even more. To make this soup we need spinach, tomatoes, onions and a little garlic. 

Tip: You can switch gram flour with corn flour (1 tsp) or wheat flour (2 tbsp).

Time: Preparation – 5 mins,  Cooking – 15 mins, Total – 20 mins.

Servings: 2

Ingredients:

  1. Spinach – around 200 grams
  2. Onion – 1 small (diced)
  3. Tomato – 2 small (diced)
  4. Garlic – 2 clove (diced)
  5. Gram Flour – 2 tbsp
  6. Ground Black Pepper – 1/2 tsp
  7. Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
  8. Oil – 1 tbsp
  9. Water – 1 cup 
  10. Cream to drizzle on top (optional)
  11. Salt to taste.

PS: 1 Cup = 250 ML.

How to make Spinach Soup:

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add garlic and onions. Saute until onions are translucent
  2. Add gram flour and saute until aromatic
  3. Add tomatoes and saute until tomatoes are soft
  4. Add spinach and cook until spinach is soft
  5. Turn off the flame and let it cool down. Add it to a blender and blend to a smooth creamy puree
  6. Transfer it to a saucepan. Add ground black pepper, cumin powder, salt and water. Mix and bring it to boil, simmer for about 5 mins
  7. Your Spinach Soup is ready. Serve hot and top it with some cream or ground pepper, enjoy!
