Ingredients:
- Pitter Dates – 1 Cup (tightly packed)
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder – 6 tbsp
- Ground Flaxseeds – 1 tbsp
- Peanut or Almond Butter – 1/2 cup
- Vanilla Extract – 1 tsp
- White Vinegar – 1 tsp
- Baking Soda – 1 tsp
- Water – 1/3 cup
- Hot Water to soak dates
- A pinch of Salt
- Dark Chocolate or Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips – 1/2 cup (optional).
PS: 1 Cup = 250 ML.
How to make Dates Brownies:
- Pre-heat the oven to 350 F. Line a 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper. Keep aside
- Soak dates in hot water for 10 mins, then drain the water and add them to a food processor or a blending jar along with 1/3 cup water and peanut or almond butter. Blend to make a smooth paste
- Add all the remaining ingredients except chocolate chips. Blend to make a smooth paste, it will be sticky. If it is too thick then add another 2-3 tbsp water more and blend again
- Transfer the batter into the pan. Smooth the batter out until it’s evenly spread in the pan. Since the batter is sticky, you can oil a piece of parchment paper with coconut oil and use it to spread the batter
- Bake for 12-15 mins or until the top looks dry
- Let it cool down in the pan for about 30 mins. Then transfer it to a chopping board and slice it into 9 or 16 pieces as desired. Your Dates Brownies are ready!!!
- This step is optional, add chocolate chips to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave until melted, stirring every 30 secs. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the brownies and freeze for 10 mins so that the chocolate settles well.
