Palak Roti

There are many Indian breads to enjoy in the breakfast, lunch or dinner. Today I am sharing an easy one and it’s Palak Roti.

Time: Preparation – 20 mins, Cooking – 10 mins, Total – 30 mins

Servings: 3-4


  1. Spinach – 2 cups tightly packed (chopped)
  2. Wheat Flour – 1 1/2 cups
  3. Water – as required for kneading the dough
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Ghee – for serving

PS: 1 Cup = 250 ML

How to make Palak Roti:

  1. Take a bowl. Add wheat flour, spinach and salt. Mix well
  2. Add water. Start kneading the dough. Add more water as required
  3. Make a soft and smooth dough. Keep aside for 15 mins
  4. Knead the dough again a little bit. If it’s sticky, dust it as required
  5. Take a medium size ball from the dough. Dust it with the wheat flour
  6. Start rolling with a rolling-pin, dust again if required. Make a medium-large roti. It should not be very thin
  7. Meanwhile heat a tawa or a pan. Place the roti
  8. Flip it when you get the brown spots
  9. Once you get the brown spots on both the sides, remove it from the tawa with the help of the tongs and place it directly on the flame (you can even cook it on the tawa itself if you have an electric flame)
  10. Cook from both the sides with the tongs. It should be as shown in the image
  11. Remove it from the flame
  12. Grease it with ghee. Your Palak Roti is ready
  13. Serve hot with any daal or curry.
