Butter Paneer Burger

Even when I think of this Butter Paneer Burger, I just drool over it. It is simply and amazingly delicious. To make the filling for the burger you’ll need paneer (Indian cottage cheese), onions, tomatoes and some spices. This is a must try!!!

Servings: makes 4-5 burgers


  1. Paneer (Cottage Cheese) – 200 grams (cut in cubes)
  2. Burger Buns – 4-5
  3. Onion – 1 medium (blend to smooth paste) + 1 small (sliced)
  4. Tomatoes – 2 large (blend to smooth paste)
  5. Ginger – 1 inch (grated or paste)
  6. Garlic – 2 cloves (grated or paste)
  7. Green Chilli – 2 (finely chopped)
  8. Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
  9. Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
  10. Garam Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
  11. Kasuri Methi – 1 tsp
  12. Coriander Leaves – 3 tbsp (finely chopped)
  13. Fresh Cream – 2 tbsp (optional)
  14. Butter – 2 tbsp + to toast the buns
  15. Salt to taste.

How to make Butter Paneer Burger:

  1. Heat 2 tbsp butter in a kadai or a pan. Add onion paste. Saute
  2. Add ginger, garlic and green chilli. Saute till golden brown
  3. Add tomato paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and kasuri methi. Mix and cook till butter starts to separate
  4. Add fresh cream. Mix well and cook for a min
  5. Add paneer cubes and salt. Mix well cook for another 2-3 mins
  6. Your butter paneer is ready. Keep aside
  7. Toast the buns in butter. Keep aside
  8. Place the bottom bun on a flat surface. Add desired quantity of butter paneer. Top it with some sliced onions. Place the top bun
  9. Your Butter Paneer Burger is ready. Serve hot with potato chips or as is.
