Butter Paneer Burger

Even when I think of this Butter Paneer Burger, I just drool over it. It is simply and amazingly delicious. To make the filling for the burger you’ll need paneer (cottage cheese), onions, tomatoes and spices. This is a must try!!!

Time: Preparation – 5 mins, Cooking – 20 mins, Total – 25 mins

Servings: makes 4-5 burgers


  1. Paneer (Cottage Cheese) – 200 grams (cut in cubes)
  2. Burger Buns – 4-5
  3. Onion – 1 medium (blend to smooth paste) + 1 small (sliced)
  4. Tomatoes – 2 large (blend to smooth paste)
  5. Ginger – 1 inch (blend to smooth paste)
  6. Garlic – 2 cloves (blend to smooth paste)
  7. Green Chilli – 2 (blend to smooth paste) (you can also blend ginger, garlic and green chilli together)
  8. Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  9. Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
  10. Garam Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
  11. Kasuri Methi – 1 tsp
  12. Coriander Leaves – 3 tbsp (finely chopped)
  13. Fresh Cream – 2 tbsp (optional)
  14. Butter (salted or unsalted) – 2 tbsp + to toast the buns
  15. Salt to taste.

How to make Butter Paneer Burger:

  1. Heat butter in a kadai or a pan. Add onion paste. Saute
  2. Add ginger, garlic and green chilli paste. Saute till golden brown
  3. Add tomato paste. Saute
  4. Add spices – red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and kasuri methi. Mix and cook till butter starts to separate
  5. Add fresh cream. Mix well and cook for a min
  6. Add paneer cubes and salt (if using salted butter then add accordingly). Mix well cook for another 2-3 mins on medium flame
  7. Your butter paneer is ready. Keep aside
  8. Heat a pan or a tawa. Add butter and toast the burger buns from inside
  9. Place the lower side bun on a flat surface. Add desired quantity of butter paneer. Top it with sliced onions. Place the upper side bun
  10. Your Butter Paneer Burger is ready. Serve it with potato chips or as is.
