Potato Sandwich

Another variety of sandwich which is quite popular in India is Potato Sandwich. Everyone enjoys it in the breakfast or even pack it for lunch.

Time: Preparation – 10 mins, Cooking – 5 mins, Total – 15 mins

Servings: 2 (will make 2 sandwiches)


  1. Whole Wheat Bread – 4 slices (you can use white bread as well)
  2. Potato – 1 large (boiled)
  3. Coriander Leaves – 1 tbsp
  4. Green Chilli – 1 small (finely chopped)
  5. Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
  6. Black Pepper Powder – 1/4 tsp
  7. Chat Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
  8. Green Chutney – 2 tbsp (recipe here)
  9. Ketchup – 2 tbsp
  10. Oil or Butter – as required
  11. Salt to taste

How to Make Potato Sandwich:

  1. Take a bowl. Add potatoes and mash them nicely
  2. Add coriander leaves, green chilli, cumin powder, black pepper powder, chat masala powder and salt
  3. Mix well and make a smooth paste. Keep aside
  4. Place a slice of bread. Spread 1 tbsp of green chutney and 1 tbsp of ketchup
  5. Spread potato paste as required
  6. Place the other slice on top on it
  7. Heat a sandwich maker (you can cook it on a non-stick pan as well)
  8. Add a little butter or oil and place the sandwich
  9. Spread a little butter or oil on top as well. Cook till golden brown from both the sides
  10. Serve with ketchup or your favorite chutney.
