Aloo Paneer Bhurji

We all have definitely tried Paneer Bhurji, it is a simple yet tasty dish made out of paneer or cottage cheese. This time I thought of mixing potatoes in it. It’s like Jeera Aloo with paneer and to my surprise it came out perfectly and equally tasty.

Time: Preparation – 3 mins, Cooking – 17 mins, Total – 20 mins

Servings: 3-4

Ingredients:

  1. Paneer (Cottage Cheese) – 200 grams (crushed or grated)
  2. Potato – 2 medium (boiled and cut in cubes)
  3. Ginger – 1 inch (finely chopped)
  4. Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
  5. Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
  6. Garam Masala Powder – 1/3 tsp
  7. Chana Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp (optional)
  8. Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
  9. Dry Mango Powder (Amchur) – 1/2 tsp
  10. Coriander Leaves – for garnishing
  11. Ghee or Oil – 2 tbsp (I used ghee)
  12. Salt to taste.

How to make Aloo Paneer Bhurji:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan or a kadai. Add cumin seeds and let it splutter
  2. Add ginger. Saute for a minute or till you get the aroma
  3. Add the spices – coriander powder, red chilli powder and chana masala powder
  4. Saute it for a few seconds and immediately add the potatoes. Mix
  5. Cook on medium flame till potatoes are a little crispy, it will take around 10 mins. Keep sauteing in between
  6. Add paneer and salt. Mix and cook for 3-4 mins on medium flame
  7. Add dry mango powder and garam masala powder. Mix well and cook for 1-2 mins
  8. Your Aloo Paneer Bhurji is ready. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
