Paneer Tikka Sandwich

Paneer Tikka sandwich is a popular Indian vegetarian sandwich. As much as one loves Paneer Tikka, they love it’s sandwich too. Recipe is easy and can be enjoyed in breakfast, lunch or as a snack.

Servings: makes 2 sandwiches

Time: Preparation – 10 Mins, Marination – 30 mins, Cooking –  15 Mins, Total – 55 mins

Ingredients:

  1. Paneer (Indian Cottage Cheese) – 100 grams (chopped in small cubes)
  2. Onion – 1/4 cup (chopped in small cubes)
  3. Tomato – 1/4 cup (seeded and chopped in small cubes)
  4. Capsicum or Bell Pepper – 1/4 cup (chopped in small cubes)
  5. Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
  6. Hung Curd (or Greek Yogurt) – 1/4 cup
  7. Gram Flour – 2 tsp
  8. Coriander Powder – 1/2 tsp
  9. Red Chilli Powder – 1/4 tsp
  10. Cumin Powder – 1/4 tsp
  11. Dry Mango Powder – 1/4 tsp
  12. Chaat Masala Powder – 1/4 tsp
  13. Black Salt – 1/4 tsp
  14. Kasuri Methi – 1/2 tsp
  15. Lemon Juice – 2 tsp
  16. Coriander Leaves as needed
  17. Bread Slices – 4 (your choice of bread)
  18. Green Chutney as required (recipe here)
  19. Butter to toast the sandwich
  20. Oil – 2 tbsp
  21. Salt to taste.

How to make Paneer Tikka Sandwich:

  1. Take a mixing bowl. Add hung curd, 1 tbsp oil, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, gram flour, coriander powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, dry mango powder, chaat masala powder, black salt, kasuri methi and salt. Mix well to a smooth marinade
  2. Add paneer, onions, tomatoes and bell peppers. Gently mix until coated well in marinade, let it rest for 30 mins
  3. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add the marinated paneer and veggies. Cook for about 10 mins on a medium flame, stirring occasionally. Add coriander leaves and mix, your paneer tikka stuffing is ready
  4. Take a bread slice, spread some green chutney & stuffing, and place other slice on top of it
  5. Meanwhile heat a pan, grill pan or sandwich maker
  6. Spread some butter and place the sandwich, toast from both the sides with butter until crisp
  7. Your Paneer Tikka Sandwich is ready. Serve hot and enjoy!!!
