Paneer Tikka Sandwich

Recently I have been doing a lot of experiment with Paneer Tikka. Today I am sharing the recipe for Paneer Tikka Sandwich.

Servings: 4

Cuisine: Indian

Time: Preparation – 10 Mins, Marination – 2 hours, Cooking –  20 Mins, Total – 2.5 hours


  1. For Paneer Tikka:
    • Paneer – 250 grams (cut in cubes)
    • Hung Curd – 1/2 cup
    • Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
    • Lemon Juice – 1 tsp
    • Kasuri Methi – 1 tsp
    • Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 1/3 tsp
    • Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
    • Chaat Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
    • Garam Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
    • Oil – for shallow frying the paneer tikka
    • Salt to taste
  2. For Sandwich:
    • Bread – 8 slices
    • Onion – 2 medium (cut in roundels)
    • Tomato – 2 medium (sliced)
    • Chaat Masala Powder – 1 tbsp
    • Black Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
    • Green Chutney – 4 tbsp (recipe here)
    • Butter – to shallow fry sandwich.

PS: 1 Cup = 250 ML

How to make Paneer Tikka Sandwich:

  1. Paneer Tikka Marination-
    • Take a bowl. Add hung curd, lemon juice, kasuri methi, chaat masala, kashmiri red chilli powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, ginger garlic paste and salt to taste. Mix well to make a paste
    • Add paneer cubes. Mix well with help of a spoon or your hand. Paneer should be covered in the marinade
    • Cover and keep aside for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator (you can even keep it more)
  2. Paneer Tikka-
    • Heat 1-2 tbsp oil in a pan. Add the marinated paneer
    • Shallow fry on a medium flame. Keep flipping in between
    • Cook till paneer becomes crispy and brown
    • Keep aside the tikka
  3. Paneer Tikka Sandwich:
    • Take a slice of a bread. Spread 1 tbsp of green chutney
    • Place 4-5 pieces of paneer tikka. Place onion and tomato slices
    • Sprinkle chaat masala and black pepper powder
    • Place another slice on top of it
    • Heat a non-stick pan or a grill pan. Add a little butter and place the sandwich
    • Cook till golden brown then flip. Similarly cook the other side
    • You can even use a sandwich grill or maker
    • Your Paneer Tikka Sandwich is ready
    • Serve hot with Ketchup.
