Aloo Chaat

Aloo Chaat is a famous Indian street food. It is basically crispy fried potatoes tossed in some tangy chutneys, spices and lemon juice. 

Also try: Bread Pakora, Paneer Aloo Tikki, Aloo Corn Tikki or Ram Laddoo.

Ingredients:

  1. Parboiled Potatoes – 2 large (peeled and cut into cubes)
  2. Tamarind Chutney – 2 tbsp or as required (recipe here)
  3. Green Chutney – 2 tsp  or as required (recipe here)
  4. Chaat Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
  5. Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp
  6. Oil for deep frying the potatoes
  7. Coriander Leaves and Julienned Ginger for garnishing
  8. Salt to taste.

How to make Aloo Chaat:

  1. Frying:
    1. Deep Fry: Heat oil in a deep kadai or pan. Add potato cubes and deep fry from all the sides until golden brown. Drain on a kitchen paper towel to remove the excess oil
    2. Air fry: Spray some oil in the air fryer and place the potatoes. Cook on 400 F for about 15 mins or until golden and crisp, shaking them twice in between
  2. Take a mixing bowl and add fried potatoes, green chutney, tamarind chutney, chaat masala powder, lemon juice & salt. Mix well
  3. Your Aloo Chaat is ready. Garnish with some coriander leaves and julienned ginger. Enjoy!!!
